Chem Arrow Europe was approached by a large sub-contractor that specalises in producing components for the automotive, off-highway and oil & gas industries.
They raised an issue with the concentration levels of their current coolant to be at a minimum of 10% to achieve the desired surface finish. They had a requirement to machine a combination of cast iron, mild and stainless steels, nylon, Invar (super alloy) and aluminum tool plate. The customer was looking for a coolant that would be suitable for all operations and materials, lower concentration levels and improved cleanliness plus they required excellent corrosion control on ferrous materials.
Solution
Following detailed laboratory testing, Chem Arrow recommended ArrowCool SEM-935-H as a high-performance, multi-metal and cost effective semi-synthetic coolant. After extensive trials on all materials, the customer was impressed with the results and switched all machines to ArrowCool SEM-935-H. The product switch surpassed all the customer’s requirements with the additional benefit of running at a lower concentration, resulting in an overall savings of approximately 20% on their coolant spend.
The customer commented: “Conversion over to Chem Arrow has been trouble free; performance of ArrowCool SEM-935-H has been exceptional and met all our expectations. The levels of technical after-sales support and delivery lead-times are much better than our previous supplier. I also like the fact we are supporting a British manufactured product which means fast deliveries with stock always being available.”
